To successfully address the global challenges of climate change, illness, poverty, conflict, and economic stability, we must build a new low-carbon, clean energy economy that fundamentally shifts the way we power our lives. To achieve this global-scale change, it is necessary that our elected leadership at local, state, federal, and international levels develop bold and scientifically sound plans and policies that pivot boldly away from fossil fuel dependence and toward a sustainable clean - energy future.
Faith communities have a moral imperative to care for Creation and for fellow humans, especially for the millions of people living in poverty and hunger across the world. Since these most vulnerable populations are disproportionately affected by our fossil fuel dependency, faith communities have a unique role in supporting clean energy solutions that not only address these challenges, but employ those who need work the most. To this end FUSE joins with key organizations such as
1Sky,
The Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, and
Green for All to enhance the outreach efforts of these groups, specifically with faith communities and their leadership.
