Education and Advocacy Outreach Program
The purpose of this program is to educate, recruit, and organize people of faith, their communities, and their leadership.  This program addresses the current shortage of awareness, organization, and leadership on the ground among faith communities in Florida.  FUSE staff travels throughout the State, delivering presentations on conservation and policy issues, while demonstrating the important role of faith communities in promoting sustainable solutions.  This program achieves the following:

  • Educates individuals on the harmful effects of fossil fuel use, and presents sustainable solutions including conservation and advocacy
  • Establishes a membership base for FUSE to engage in ongoing conservation and advocacy activities
  • Generates public comment to elected officials on clean energy issues

Stewardship Consultation Program
The purpose of this program is to establish and maintain relationships with clergy, lay leaders and congregants through ongoing advocacy campaigns and consultation on energy conservation.  This program will:

  • Educate participants on the issues related to our fossil fuel dependency.
  • Achieve up to 10% reduction in energy use and corresponding CO2 emissions in houses of worship through congregant-operated green committees.
  • Engage participants in up to 20 yearly action steps that support policy on climate and clean energy.

Members of this program are recruited through the Educational Outreach Campaign described above.  They receive resources, support, and consultation via email, phone, and visits, including assistance in measuring their outcomes and the overall success of their program.
